Error message: "PDP authentication failed"

Error message: "PDP authentication failed"

The error message “PDP authentication failed” may appear when your device cannot properly connect to the mobile network using your eSIM from eSIMony. While it sounds technical, it can usually be fixed quickly.

Please go through the following steps one by one:

  1. Check the APN settings
Make sure the correct APN is entered in the mobile network settings of your eSIM:
    APN: data.esim
All other fields (username, password, proxy, etc.) should remain empty.
  2. Check whether your data plan is still active
If your data volume has been used up or the plan’s validity period has expired, a data connection is no longer possible. A quick look at your eSIMony account will show your current status.
  3. Verify eSIM status and device compatibility
Ensure that your eSIM is properly installed and activated, and that your device supports eSIM technology.
  4. Check network coverage and location
Weak signal strength or temporary network congestion can also trigger this message. If possible, move to a different location or turn airplane mode on for a few seconds and then off again.
  5. Restart your device
Restarting your smartphone often helps it reconnect to the mobile network and establish a stable connection.
  6. Update your device software
Make sure your smartphone is running the latest version of iOS or Android. Outdated software can cause connection issues.

In short: PDP authentication controls how your device sends and receives data over the mobile network. This error simply means that the authentication didn’t work at that moment — it does not mean your eSIM is defective.

In most cases, the connection works normally again after following one of these steps.
