If your eSIMony QR code won’t scan, that can be frustrating — but in most cases it can be resolved quickly. It’s best to go through the following steps one by one:
-
Check device compatibility
First, make sure your smartphone supports eSIM. Not all devices are eSIM-compatible. You can find an up-to-date list of supported devices in our compatibility overview. -
Check the QR code
Make sure the QR code is clearly visible and not distorted, cropped, or blurry. If needed, zoom in on the code or open the email on another device. -
Adjust lighting and distance
Ensure good lighting without reflections. Hold your smartphone steady and not too far away from the QR code — sometimes a small change in position makes all the difference. -
Use the correct scanner
The QR code must be scanned via the eSIM installation section in your device settings, not with the regular camera app. -
Restart your device
A quick restart can help resolve minor software issues. After restarting, try scanning the QR code again.
If scanning still doesn’t work, there’s always a solution — for example, manual installation or issuing a new QR code. In that case, we’ll guide you through the next steps so your eSIM is ready to use as quickly as possible.
